MySQL Outage August 8th, 2006
Today at approximately 16:25 the MySQL server began to produce errors on queries made and eventually the service locked and was unable to be restarted. We were unable to restart the service despite a number of attempts. We therefore re-install MySQL on the server and restored the databases to a backup taken at 12:26 Today. The service was then able to start and came back online at 16:45. We then stopped the service and restored the database files copied at 16:30 prior to the uninstallation.
Cacth-All Mail Accounts and Spam Filtering. August 1st, 2006
After some recent reports by users I have looked in to the effectiveness of spam filtering on catch-all accounts. Internal testing and discussion with the mail server developers has brought out the fact that spam filtering is not applied to catch-all accounts. Well that is not completely accurate. I should say spam filtering is not applied to catch-all accounts where the mail is received indirectly. Where mail is sent directly to the catch-all account spam filtering is applied as normal.
