Domain Limits Removed On All Packages March 28th, 2006
After a successful trial and the positive response to the removal of domain limits on our reseller package we are pleased to announce this has been extended across all packages.
With immediate effect all of our packages no longer have any domain limits. This means you can add as many domains as you wish to your package within the limits of your other resources.
As per the reseller package we will continue to have disk space and bandwidth limits on packages with add-ons available to increase these at anytime. By maintaining disk space and bandwidth limits we can ensure control over our costs and continue to provide exceptional service.

Reseller Account Domain Limits Removed. March 23rd, 2006
AGUK is pleased to announce that with immediate effect all reseller packages no longer have any domain or FTP account limits. Our continual growth has enabled us to achieve greater economies of scale which in turn allows us to offer this kind of package.
It is important to point out that this is not a move to “unlimited hosting”. We firmly believe in ensuring our customers know what they are purchasing and as such we do not provide “unlimited” diskspace or bandwidth. While technology is advancing at a phenomenal rate so far nobody has yet invented the unlimited sized hard disk!

DLLSTX2 Scheduled maintenance [2006-03-21] March 17th, 2006
Our provider in the US will be performing some DC maintenance as specified below. This may affect backup-mail and secondary DNS services.
On Tuesday morning, March 21, 2006, beginning at 12:01AM CDT The Planet will be conducting network maintenance at the DLLSTX2 data center for 2 hours.
Although maintenance of this type should be transparent to customer servers and infrastructure, it is possible that some latency and packet loss may be experienced for very brief periods of time during the maintenance.

HTTP Compression Enabled March 17th, 2006
We are pleased to announce that after some successful Server Side Compression trials at the start of this month HTTP Compression has been deployed across all web servers. HTTP Compression works simply by the web server compressing website content before sending it to the clients browser. The clients browser will then uncompress the content. The result is lower bandwidth usage for your website and possible faster loading time of your website. We currently compress all static and dynamic content on the servers.

IMAP Mail Accounts March 15th, 2006
With the recent problems surrounding the mail account creation it has been identified that mail accounts are no longer being created as IMAP capable. We hope to restore the ability to automatically create IMAP capable accounts in the near future while developers work on the integration.
In the meantime any customer with a non IMAP account and require one can simply contact support and we will make the changes manually.
We will provide further updates when the full service is restored.

Mail Sending Improvements March 13th, 2006
We currently perform some sophisticated challenges at the SMTP mail acceptance stage. This is proving effective at vastly reducing the amount of spam. Most customers are reporting they receive practically zero spam.
However this process can cause some minor complications. The sending of mail can be slow at times. To combat this we have set up an SMTP Auth checking system. When you first attempt to send mail using SMTP Auth you may notice a slight delay. During this initial sending period we will log your IP address. From then any subsequent sends will be almost immediate as we know that we do not need to perform any of the intensive checks on your mail as you have already validated.

Server Side Compression March 2nd, 2006
We are currently testing server-side compression techniques on our web servers. This compresses your files before sending them to the clients browser. The result is faster downloads and less bandwidth used. However this can have an effect on server performance as compression can use significant processing power.
If successful we will look to roll out the compression to all sites in the future.
