Anti-Spam Updates and Effectiveness February 15th, 2006
The sending of unsolicited commercial email has become an art form for many spam senders. Carefully wording emails to bypass the Bayesian scanning and make emails look more like genuine emails. Because of this we have introduced some new methods of Spam prevention.
The changes should not affect you apart from seeing a reduction in Spam mail received. However in a small number of cases one of the changes may cause problems for some users trying to send mail. If you receive any time-out errors when trying to send mail make sure that your email client connection timeout period is set to at least 60 seconds.

Automatic Recipient Whitelisting February 13th, 2006
After a few days of testing we now have the ability to set-up Automatic Recipient White listing. This means that anyone you send mail to is automatically added to your white list and will not be subject to possible Spam filtering.
However if we enable this feature it will be on a global scale. It is not currently possible to enable on a per user basis. We would appreciate your feedback on if you would like to see this feature.

Bandwidth Tracking February 8th, 2006
In the coming weeks we will be altering the way we track customer bandwidth usage. We will start including FTP and Mail bandwidth usage within the reporting in Helm.
At the same time as including these additional bandwidth calculations we will also increase the bandwidth available to each package. We can do this because we have always calculated a slight overhead for these services within the package price. Therefore most customers will not be affected by this. However customers using a disproportionate amount of FTP and Mail bandwidth will likely see overages on bandwidth usage.
